The initial ADR training course spans over 5 days, Monday to Friday, with the exams being taken on the final day. The ADR Training Course includes Core, Packages, Tanks modules, as well as the 7 standard danger classes.
The 7 classes are detailed below:
- Class 2 – Gases
- Class 3 – Flammable Liquids
- Class 4 – Flammable Solids (substances liable to spontaneous combustion and substances that, in contact with water, emit flammable gases)
- Class 5 – Oxidising Substances and Organic Peroxides
- Class 6 – Toxic and Infectious Substances
- Class 8 – Corrosive Substances
- Class 9 – Miscellaneous Dangerous Substances and Articles
Definitions:
Packages: (other than in tanks), means any goods that are not carried in a road tanker or tank container.
Bulk: (packages regulations), dangerous goods not in packaging, such as Skips or Tippers.
Tanks: Tanks and tank containers, any goods carried in a road tanker or tank container. This course includes 28 hours of Driver CPC periodic training.
